The Beijing 2008 Olympic Games and what it means for China
Perhaps no other sporting event in the world has a rich history the Summer Olympic Games. Since its origins in ancient Greece, the games have traveled the world for centuries. And this summer, come to another ancient land, China.
Beijing host the Olympic Games of 2008, the 29th Olympiad of modern times. This is the first time China has never hosted the Olympic Games. Billions of dollars have been invested in building stunning new sports facilities, including the 80,000 seater National Stadium, a marvel of architectural design and beauty.
In preparation for the Games, the Chinese have become "Crazy Olympics", filled an immense sense of pride that his country has always been considered something of a closed society in the West. Same those of Chinese abroad have shown their support by participating in the delivery of the torch passing through their country of origin.
Perhaps the reason why the Chinese have chosen an appropriate theme for his first Olympic Games:
????? , ?????. In Chinese means "One World, One Dream".
For the Chinese, is certainly a dream come true. The new facilities have been almost entirely Sports built with company funds. The government paid only 15% of the total, a remarkable feat in itself. When the end of games, places will be used to form Chinese national teams and host world class sporting events.
Chinese hope Games not only enhance the reputation your country in the arena of world opinion, but also improve living conditions and working together. While China is more in in a world economic power, it still has a long way to go in many respects. The Olympics was surely things are moving aid in the country.
Although it lags behind Western cultures on some fronts, China is one of the leaders in technology use and advanced techniques to teach residents to speak Chinese. Of course, students have always learned to speak Chinese in schools. But use technology to enable others to learn Chinese, especially those in western countries, to learn to speak fluent Chinese language.
Like tens of thousands of journalists, sports fans and world leaders come to Beijing this summer, has never been a better time for Westerners to learn to speak Chinese. Not only does it make the games more enjoyable but you can dazzle your friends, not only to be able read ????? ?????, But to pronounce that.
Once thing is certain. The 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing promise to bring China into the circle Winners, because it takes the world stage in August. Only time will tell if this is a golden medal. But you can get the medal gold yourself, learn to speak Chinese in the months before the Games.
